Cindo de Mayo Mango Madness Cocktail

A Note Before You Start

There are a lot of variations for this cocktail, all involving blueberry syrup. I happen to think the syrup is too sweet so I made mine with blueberry puree. No artificial flavors in this cocktail!

Ingredients

1 oz of blueberry puree (recipe to follow)

2 oz of gin

4 oz of tonic

Fresh lemon slice and fresh blueberries for garnish

Fill a cocktail glass with ice. Pour in the blueberry puree, and gin and mix throughly. Top off with tonic and garnish.

Preparation

Blueberry Puree:

1 15 oz bag of frozen blueberries, thawed. I do not recommend using wild blueberries as their size makes it more difficult to strain through a fine mesh strainer.

1 Tbsp of fresh lemon juice

3/4 c water

2 Tbsp of sugar

Put all of the ingredients into a blender, and blend on medium high for 20-30 seconds. Strain the puree in batches into a fine mesh strainer.
